Biscayne Bay A Course design for G.B.C
7050 yds. Par 72
By D. L. Bunch, AKA DanO.
These notes are from the jn5 version. Changes for GBC are mostly cosmetic. New textures and a few custom items. Course changes include a new and improved green on #9 and afew fairway changes on #4.
Thank you for loading this course, I think it will be time well spent. I originally built this course on the jn4 design program. The tree palette wasnt what I wanted. I called it an Oregon seaside course and submitted it anyway. When jn5 came available, yahoo, Cypress trees galore. OK, time to get to work. I deleted all my trees and shrubbery from the jn4 version and began the arduous task of re-treeing and adding new vegetable stands.(thats what I call flower beds). OK, done. The next step was play-testing....Major disappointment, the ball didnt go as far as it did in jn4 and not as straight either. Well thats my fault. Also Biscayne had quite a bit of side-hill lies on it. So I had to rethink allot of holes. Made them wider and in certain areas flatter. If you are a power player like my self, you will find that although Biscayne allows distance its not always the best choice. This course is also enjoyable for the control-contact player.
Every shot at Biscayne requires some strategic planning, you must take the time to figure out where the best tee shot needs to be hit. Which side of the fairway do I need to be on, (this varies greatly with 5 pin placements) which way will the ball kick when it lands on the greens. Most greens on Biscayne are on the flatish side at least around the holes. I thought the course was hard enough as it was without being faced with difficult putt after putt. There are tough pin placements to be had however.
I did not include a hole by hole description here. I think that part of the fun of playing a new course, is the discovery of what lies ahead...so go on, get playing and have some fun. I had to much fun designing it.....lol...I couldnt wait to finish it......D.L. Bunch (DanO)

Final Thinks and Thanks: I would like to show my appreciation for those out their trying to make a difference for the jn4-5 community at large...First of all those whom are willing to try to build quality courses. Secondly the people whom are using their recourses to store these courses, and to those folks whom spend every waking hour, creating web sites for tourneys, course reviews, all that stuff. Hats off, without these people jn4-5 wouldnt be as great as it is. Remember that the next time you want to complain.
